The Safe Center is seeking to hire a clinician who has experience working with survivors of abuse. Our Domestic Violence Counseling Program provides trauma focused individual and group therapy and other services to adult victims of domestic violence, and works with other agency units to ensure wrap around service delivery.  This is a full-time, in-office position Monday-Friday and evenings are required.  Salary is $50,000 (or $55,000 for bilingual English/Spanish). Weekly supervision is provided by an LCSW.  Includes medical/dental benefits and generous paid time off policy.

Responsibilities of the Domestic Violence Therapist include:
  • Phone outreach & screening for services
  • Clinical assessment
  • Crisis intervention & suicide risk assessment
  • Individual therapy
  • Group facilitation
  • Advocacy, case management, & referral
  • Collaboration with our Crisis Center, Legal Services, DV Shelter, Children’s Mental Health and other units

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Master’s in Social Work, Creative Arts Therapy, Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or equivalent
  • NY State licensure or eligible for limited permit
  • Commitment to a strengths-based approach
  • Clinical experience required
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence strongly preferred
  • Experience with Article 31 outpatient clinic services and electronic medical records a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
