SUMMARY: The Rape/Sexual Assault Counselor provides in office trauma informed individual and group therapy and other services to adult victims of current or past rape/sexual assault and works with other agency units to ensure wrap around service delivery.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide trauma informed individual and group counseling and crisis intervention
- Work closely with our Crisis Center, Legal Services, DV Shelter, Children’s Mental Health and other units
- Attend weekly supervision sessions
- Complete and maintain client records in agency database
- Provide appropriate referrals for clients to receive advocacy, case management, legal, housing and any other additional services, as well as following up to assure that services are being delivered
- Perform additional tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Creative Arts Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy or equivalent
- NY State licensure or eligible for limited permit
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Clinical experience preferred
- Diagnostic clinical experience required
- Experience working with survivors of abuse and/or training in trauma treatment strongly preferred
- Commitment to a strengths-based approach
- Experience with Article 31 Clinic services a plus
HOURS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Full-time, non-exempt (35 hours/week)
- LCSW supervision
- Some evenings required
- Includes medical, dental, vision benefits and a generous paid time off package
- Access to National EAP services
- Annual salary: $50,000-$55,000
